Traveling through Vietnam, you will notice a big difference in climate between the north and the south. In the north, the rainy season starts in July, August, ends in September. The south of Vietnam ( Ho Chi Minh City) is near the equator, so it has two seasons: rainy and dry. The rainy season starts around: March to October, and the dry season is from November to April. During the rainy season, it rains nearly every day, but just for half an hour to an hour and then shines again.

The best time to visit Vietnam ( Also the tourist season for westerners) is between August and April, when the weather tends to be good in both North and South.
