On December 8, 2023, Booking.com, a leading global online booking platform, revealed the top 10 destinations chosen by domestic travelers for the upcoming New Year of 2024. Among the attractions, Hoi An ascended to the number 1 spot, climbing 6 ranks compared to its position in the 2022 ranking.

Booking.com's recommendations are based on the search data of Vietnamese travelers in November 2023 and bookings from December 1, 2023, until the beginning of 2024. Surpassing numerous alluring travel destinations to secure the top spot, Hoi An demonstrates breakthrough potential for 2024.

Hoi An also recorded remarkable figures during the first 9 months of 2023. During this period, the number of visitors to explore Hoi An exceeded 3 million and increased by 254.3% compared to the same period in 2022, and surpassed the target by 128.1%. The total number of visitors purchasing tickets for attractions reached over 2.5 million, marking a 279% increase. The overall number of accommodation guests surpassed 1.18 million, reflecting a 215.08% rise, with an average stay of 2.1 days per guest. Additionally, during the National Day holiday on September 2, 2023, Hoi An was among the top 10 most sought-after destinations by Vietnamese tourists.
