Hon Mieu Island whose area of about 1.3 km², is the nearest island in Nha Trang Bay, also known as Bong Nguyen Island, with a picturesque island village that still retains many features of traditional fishing village in Vietnam.
The fishing village is located to the southwest of the island, where the inhabitants live mainly in raising and fishing seafood. Mentioning to the fishing village without referring to seafood is a lacking merit. A traditional means of transport for fishermen and at Fishing Village - the boat (thúng) become a sea cruise service that’s very attractive to tourists, especially foreign visitors. The boat controller will take guests around the sea and guide visitors how to row, which is very interesting.
Hon Mieu Island (or Tri Nguyen) is mainly known for its aquarium. There is the aquarium building is very fascinating where has the shape of a huge pirate boat.
This is billed as an outdoor aquarium but it's actually a fish-breeding farm, where over 40 species of fish, crustacean and other marine creatures are raised. Surrounding the tanks are an incredibly kitsch concrete collection of giant shrimps, fang-bearing sharks and so on.
Bai Soi, a special beach without sand, only small rocks is a wonderful place to swim. In addition, visitors can see clearly the world of corals and thorns.
