Hoian Museum

Hoian Museum is located at 10B Trần Hưng Đạo Street, Hoi An city, Quang Nam province.

This museum was established on November 10th 1989, formerly located at 07 Nguyen Hue Street. The museum displays 335 artifacts including 281 original artifacts and 54 images which relate to the developmental stages of Hoi An Ancient Town from prehistoric times to the present: 3 periods: The pre-proto history period, The Champa period and The Đại Việt – Đại Nam period. Including these types of display room:

1, The exhibition of History and Culture: Displaying over 300 documents and artifacts, the exhibition is an introduction to the Land and the People of Hoi An through 3 periods: The pre-proto history period, The Champa period and The Đại Việt – Đại Nam period.

2, The exhibition of Revolutionary History: Hoi An was one of the four earliest local provinces all over the country to take control in the August Revolution 1945.

3, The exhibition of Hoi An ascent from hardship: More than 100 documents and artifacts are on display at the exhibition of “Hoi An ascent from hardship”. The collection introduces about Hoi An after liberation 1975 until before Đổi Mới (Reform) 1986.

4, Art Gallery: the collection displays 38 paintings by many famous artists in Vietnam. The paintings drawing media includes oil painting, pen, gouache, spray paint, lacquer, watercolor…The collection portrays the natural sceneries, old walls with green moss, small roads in town, peaceful rivers… and daily life in Hoi An.
