The History Museum of Vietnam in Ho Chi Minh City is located at number 2 Nguyen Binh Khiem Street, Ben Nghe Ward, District 1, next to Saigon Botanical Garden. This is the place to preserve and display tens of thousands of precious objects collected inside and outside Vietnam.

Established in the 1920s as the Musée Louis Finot, the Saigon National History Museum is in a building that typifies Indochinese architecture. One of many museums in Ho Chi Minh City, this site offers a range of artifacts from Vietnam’s long history, and is a great attraction on your sightseeing itinerary. If you are interested in the past of a country steeped in culture, we recommend a visit.

The Museum of Vietnamese History in Ho Chi Minh City currently holds more than 30,000 precious items and objects of Vietnamese history from the time of starting building country to the establishment of Communist Party of Vietnam (1930).

Inside the museum is divided into different halls: galleries of Wu - Ding - Le - Ly, galleries of Tay Son antiques Dynasty, antiques Vuong Hong Sen rooms or galleries of royal Coat under Nguyen Dynasty. Besides, the museum also presents many special subjects related to many cultures typical of the South such as Oc Eo culture, Cuu Long ancient culture, Champa culture and art, Ben Nghe Saigon, ethnic groups of Vietnam... Display text is written in Vietnamese, English and French.

Here you can also enjoy a 20 minutes water puppet performances for an extra fee (about 50,000đ), and performances are held every hour between 9 and 11am and 2 and 4pm Tuesday through Sunday.
