Duc Thanh school

Duc Thanh school was the place where President Ho Chi Minh had lived and taught in 1910 before he went abroad to find a way to save the country.

Located in Thanh Duc village, now is 39 Trung Nhi Street, Phan Thiet city, Binh Thuan province.

In 1910 Nguyen Tat Thanh became the youngest teacher. That year, he was 20 years old. Here, Nguyen Tat Thanh (Ho Chi Minh) taught literature, Chinese literature and physical education. He also taught French when the French teacher was absent.

Currently, the Duc Thanh School retains nearly all intact memorabilia a century ago including “Ngu house” - where boarding house for teachers and students; Ngoa Su Dao; starfruit tree in the garden.

Besides Duc Thanh historical vestige, the museum displaying objects relating to Ho Chi Minh’s life and revolutionary activities was built next to Ca Ty River and inaugurated in 1986. After 31 years of operation, Duc Thanh School has welcomed tens of millions of people visiting and learning about the beloved Uncle Ho’s life when he taught in Phan Thiet. The vestige of Duc Thanh School has contributed to patriotic tradition education to the present and future’s young generations.
