Sihanoukville comes as one of the best beachside destinations in Asia yet to be explored. Not only so the city bears a short but amazing history of existence featuring both peace and turmoil which make this place all the more significant. formerly Kompong Som is a seaside town featuring Cambodia's best-known beaches. Some tourists refer Sihanoukville as Snookyville or even Snooky, though none of the locals know the term Snookyville or Snooky. The town itself doesn't offer much to see. The main areas of Sihanoukville of interest to tourists are Serendipity Beach, Otres Beach, Victory Beach, and the various islands off the coast. The mangrove-lined Ou Trojak Jet River, Sihanoukville's longest river, runs from Otres Pagoda to Otres Beach. It is popular with both canoeists and anglers, and the lower section harbours a marina. Restaurants along the south bank of the river serve fresh seafood supplied by the local inshore fishing boats. In addition, you can visit Kampong Pier Nup Lok  (2 km N of the commercial port)- The old fishing port- Offers some nice views. Koh Rong (Monkey Island), Ream National Park and Kbal Chhay Waterfall.

Sihanoukville province is a small southern province of Cambodia. The capital sits on a peninsula with beaches and tropical islands around.
