Sa Pa is a highland town in Sa Pa District, Lao Cai Province, Vietnam. Sa Pa is one of the places where snow falls in Vietnam.
In the 1940s, french people planned, built Sa Pa into a resort, nursing which are quite ideal. There is a full range of hydroelectric power stations, water stations, government offices, coal mines, treasuries, forest ranger stations, asphalt roads and more than 200 Western-style villas in the center of the town. This makes the town look like a European city.
Sapa's tourism services are well appreciated by foreign tourists. Sa Pa has many beautiful natural scenery such as Silver Falls about 200m in height, Cloud Bridge is a historical relic of the ethnic people, Heaven Gate which is the highest point of the road can go to watch Phan Xi Pang peak. Truc forest, Ta Phin cave, Sa Pa ancient rock reserving in Muong Hoa valley. Ham Rong Mountain is a place to grow a lot of flowers, colorful colors and are planted on a campus. There are also orchid garden with many rare flowers.
Sa Pa also has an old stone church in the town. On the way to Ta Phin cave there is a monastery built almost entirely of stone on a clear and cool hillside.
Sa Pa also has a peak of Fanxipan is 3143m in height which is on Hoang Lien Son Range. In Hoang Lien Son National Park, there are 136 species of birds, 56 species of mammals and 553 species of insects. There are 37 mammal species listed in the Red Book of Vietnam.
Especially Muong Hoa Valley has 196 stones that were carved many strange shapes by ancient people thousands of thousands of years ago that many archaeologists have not decoded these information.
Sa Pa with six ethnic groups reside, each with its own cultural capital. The highlight of Sapa is the "Roong" festival of Giay people in Ta Van village, along with the festival "Sai San" of the Mong tribe and "Tet nhay Festival" of the Red Dao tribe.
