Mai Chau is a mountainous district in Hoa Binh province, Vietnam. The district is located at about 160 km from Ha Noi. The scenery of Mai Châu attracts many tourists.

Mai Chau which is a beautiful little valley between mountains in the spectacular north-west. Come here where visitors will not only immerse in the beauty of the northwestern region, but will also have the opportunity to learn about the life, culture and traditions of the people here. In addition, Mai Chau is also locally stored treasure varies according to the characteristics of the ethnic Thai, Mong through the activities of the ancient in festivals such as the Festival "Praying the rain", festival "Cha dogg" of the people of Thai and the "Gau tao" festival of the Hmongs.

The Mai Châu area is well known for its stilt houses. The type of stilt houses, or pile dwellings, they construct are called Thai stilt houses and are made of bamboo and timber. Coming to Mai Chau, visitors can visit Ban Lac Tourist Village, Pom Coong Village, Van Village, Buoc Village and enjoy the scenery, relics such as Khoai cave, Chieu cave, Nhat cave, Mo Luong cave, Thung Khe Pass, Ba Khan, Museum “the space of Muong culture”… which is quite good for discovery activities and go trekking.

Walking to the villages around enjoy the surrounding countryside and paddy fields , especially on Sunday people from the villages bring a lot of things to the Mai Chau market to sell their specific products: honey, bananas, corn,.. .and brocade made by skilled Thai women. The Sunday market is also an occasion to enjoy traditional Thai dishes and to participate in traditional dancing.
