Notre-Dame Cathedral
Saigon Notre-Dame Cathedral is the Cathedral of the Archdiocese of Ho Chi Minh City, one of the unique architectural works of Saigon, the destination of domestic and foreign tourists, the characteristics of Vietnam tourism.
Many tourists head straight to Notre Dame Cathedral, or Notre Dame de Saigon as it was called by the French, as their first point of interest in Saigon, and with good reason.
It's hard to miss the church's twin towers projecting into the sky for some 60 meters.
Located at No. 1, Paris Commune Square, District 1. The cathedral is a Roman-style building with the length of 91 m, the width 35m, the height of roof is of 21m.
The church is decorated with 56 stained glass windows, depicting the characters or events in the Bible, 31 rounds of pink roses and 25 eyes of cow shape windows. All the materials were directly imported from France like red bricks of the outside walls, which retain their bright and lively red color until today.
The French-influenced design of Saigon Notre Dame Cathedral still acts as a stop for people who seek for old beauties and calmness.
